WADDLERS

In our Waddlers program, we focus on providing individualized care for your child and establishing the foundation for continued growth and development. We recognize that for many families this is the first experience with an early learning program in a group setting, and therefore, we work to ensure a smooth and happy transition for you and your child.

TODDLERS

In our Toddlers program, we continue the individual growth and development started in the waddlers classroom with added focus on developing emotional, social, and cognitive skills through play and exploration in a calm, structure, and supportive environment.  Creating a positive relationship between caregivers and children is essential to support these developing skills.

PRESCHOOL

Our Preschool program follows a more structured daily schedule with ample time for individual, small group, and large group activities designed to foster your child’s developing physical, cognitive, and social/emotional skills. Our teachers focus on developing children holistically through social, emotional, cognitive, and physical areas. The classroom environment itself plays a crucial role by being structured, safe, and full of materials that encourage curiosity and active exploration.

PRE-KINDERGARTEN

Our SPP (Seattle Preschool Program) Pre-Kindergarten classroom focuses on whole-child development, emphasizing social, emotional, physical, and cognitive skills to prepare children for kindergarten.  Key aspects include using a play-based, evidence-based curriculum, fostering a positive and inclusive environment through consistent routines and teacher-child relationships, and incorporating activities that support kindergarten readiness. Our Pre-K teachers provide a variety of child-centered activities throughout the day, with a strong emphasis on developing math, science, literacy, and social-emotional skills.

OUTSIDE TIME

We believe that outside time and physical activity are an important part of learning, and we provide rain suits for all children enrolled in our program to use throughout the year. All of our groups enjoy outside time on our playground or at the Burke Gilman Park twice per day, rain or shine (in extreme weather or on poor air quality days, our Community Room is used for gross motor playtime).

EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

Throughout the year, we actively seek and promote opportunities for additional learning and exploration, both inside and outside of the classroom. Our extra-curricular activities include music and creative movement classes, our summer soccer camp, and annual field trips around the city of Seattle.

We have been a part of TCC since 2012 and absolutely love it. The teachers are kind, compassionate and wonderful with kids. They really value uniqueness and diversity. We are proud to have 3 kids go from Toddler to Pre-K with TCC!
